RealityF1

Version 10.0 | 2010 Season

History

In the dim and distant past (well, the 1999 and 2000 F1 seasons to be precise) a group of friends got together and took part in the BBC's Fantasy Formula 1 competition. After each race some luckless individual (i.e. me) would collate the scores and email them to the other players. After two years of competition, during which time players in our "mini-league" had won no less than three rounds of the competition (including myself, Spanish GP 1999) I decided that it would be fun to have a go at writing my own fantasy Formula 1 game...and lo, Reality F1 was born!

2001 season

During 2001 a battle raged between 97 RF1 players until the very last race of the season. Rich Amey eventually took the honours in the first ever Reality F1 championship.

2002 season

The 2002 season saw over 130 competitors take up the RF1 challenge. Dava Martin took the much-coveted RF1 crown/cap at the last race of the season. The full results are available in the Past Seasons section of the Web site.

2003 season

The 2003 season went right down to the wire with Luke Avejs taking the honours by a mere 18 points. The 2003 season saw 157 competitors do battle on the RF1 stage and the full results are available in the Past Seasons section of the Web site.

2004 season

In 2004 the battle was once again decided in the final race of the season (in contrast to the actual F1 championship). 151 players fought it out over 18 races and eventually only 54.5 points separated dee 1 in first and Hatch in second. The full results are available in the Past Seasons section.

2005 season

During 2005, 178 players fought for the championship. For the first time in RF1 history the result was a tie. Daniel and Todd both scored 1947.25 points. 2005 also saw the introduction of mini-leagues to the competition. 21 leagues took part and The Robbins Family took the inaugural league championship.

2006 season

In 2006 the competition was contested by 152 players and there were 21 leagues in the league competition. The individual championship was won by Wilma Cargo who led for most of the latter part of the season despite being kept honest by platinumcoolest. The league competition was very close and was only decided at the last race of the season in favour of Griswald GP. Their victory meant The Robbins Family narrowly missed out on becoming the first players/league to win a championship twice.

2007 season

In 2007 the competition was contested by 172 players and there were 19 leagues in the league competition. The individual championship was won by Jasper, his faith in Räikkönen was rewarded as the Finn came good and sealed the driver's crown for himself and the RF1 crown for Jasper. The league competition was very close and was only decided at the last race of the season in favour of Karolino Bac.

2008 season

In 2008 the competition was contested by 192 players and there were 24 leagues in the league competition. For the first time in RF1 history the individual championship ended in a tie between donttrysohard and ambrimberry. The league competition was won by the Brimberry F1 League from Bangor Rostra. In the first RF1 country competition it was the Netherlands who won ahead of Finland.

2009 season

In 2009 the competition was contested by 263 players and there were 34 leagues in the league competition. The individual championship was won by Danardi F1 with Pali Gp finishing second. The league competition was won by UWE and Portugal won the country league.

So, think you're up to the Challenge?

Although RF1 was designed with my friends in mind all are welcome to compete...in fact, the more the merrier - and it is FREE. RF1 is meant to be fun; after all it's only a game...isn't it? The bottom line is if you've a good sense of humour and fancy competing in a fairly relaxed fantasy Formula 1 competition then please sign up.
